Allow admins to translate items configurable in the administration section

      Hi everyone,

      Thanks for your interest in this issue.
      This request is considered a potential addition to our longer-term roadmap.

      We'll typically review this request in about 12 months time, at which point we’ll consider whether we need to alter its status.

      For the nearest future we've decided to prioritize other areas of the Jira Server roadmap, including:

      • Performance and stability improvements
      • Archiving projects for improved performance
      • Optimising the use of custom fields
      • Improving performance of boards
      • Improving Jira notifications
      • Allowing users to edit shared filters and dashboards
      • Mobile app for Jira Server

      Original description:

      From the JIRA 3.2 Beta Release Notes:
      "Continuing our commitment to a fully internationalisable issue manager, JIRA 3.2 provides the ability to translate all issue settings - i.e. Priorities, Statuses, Issue Types and Resolutions. This allows for even more complete translations to present JIRA to each user in their own chosen language."

      I still miss being able to translate the following settings before JIRA is fully internationalisable.

      1. Project Categories
      2. Issue linking
      3. Sub-Task Types
      4. Workflows (i know i can make a new workflow in a second language, but when two persons with two different languages uses the same project, the workflow will only be presented in one of the languages) and their transitions.
      5. Custom Fields (same problem as with workflows)
      6. Security Levels
      7. Field Sceen Tabs
      8. Field descriptions

      In other words: anything user configurable that is shown to the users.

      As long as this is missing, it still gives no sense to use JIRA in a multilanguage environment. My setup is in danish. A person speaking only english will not be able to use it, since the workflow, the security levels and so on gives no meaning to him.

      Disclaimer: i haven't installed 3.2 yet, so if any of the above settings actually IS translatable, please excuse me for not being up-to-date.

            I manage two customers who running a Data Center Edition each and paying combined license fees of round about $1 million. 
            Both customers running Jira in the German translation by policy and they do not understand that it's not possible to implement a translation here.
            Please @Atlassian take care of this topic!

            We are using Jira server in the Province of Quebec in a  company with 1000 + employees so Jira must be in English and French for the users but also to meet the bilingualism regulations. So please make it happen to make Jira an even better product.

            We do not really need it, but since everything is translatable and we've configured Jira fully in English, and added Dutch translations.. It's missing transistion translations. Would like to have that.

            I'll add my vote. I'm from Canada, working at an organisation where bilingualism is core to our mission. Half-baked multi-lingual support, in this global connected world, is just unacceptable. Many countries are multilingual by law (See a post from Switzerland above for another example). By not building these features, you are cornering yourself out of many markets. The only reason I can imagine, is that the Marketplace partners that offer some of this functionality hold too much sway. The costs of running Jira Service Management + a number of add-ons gets a little ridiculous, for something that should be core to any product developed in the 21st century.

            Please, please, please make this happen ASAP!
