As of 2022 the Customer Portal now has two field/form configuration experiences. The first are the fields configured under Request Type > Portal Form, which is the basis for this original issue. The new Project Settings > Forms can also be used in the Customer Portal.
The unsupported fields for Request Type > Portal Form are:
- Group Picker
- Project Picker
- Version Picker
