Summary
Duplicate users returned if a user exists in more than 1 directory.
How to replicate
- Create a new User Directory in Jira
- Populate the directory with the same username from the default Jira Internal Directory.
- Reporter, and Request Participants fields now show duplicate users.
Environment
Jira 7.X, 8.X
Expected Results
Crowd should be amalgamating these directories so that the identity is represented as only one person.
There are several use cases where one might have mixed directories. For example, one AD directory for internal groups, and one Jira directory for mixing AD users with Jira groups.
Actual Results
Users with identical username who exist in different directories will be duplicated in user picker fields.
Workaround
Follow the instructions provided on the Jira shows duplicates in user picker article.
