Summary
Random version of user returned if a user exists in more than 1 directory.
How to replicate
- Create a new User Directory in Jira
- Populate the directory with the same username/ same display name from the default Jira Internal Directory add a different email to easy distinguish.
- Assignee, and mention suggestions show random version of the user
Environment
JIRA 8.19.1+
Expected Results
Ideally only top directory version of the user should appear but because JRASERVER-68456 exists users should have at least possibility to select the preferred user version.
Actual Results
Users with identical username who exist in different directories will randomly show up in suggestion list, at different attempts to search for a user(or for different queries matching the same user). Depending on the context, the user might see duplicate with the correct version of the user, appearing in "Suggestion" section of the list
Workaround
Avoid using duplicate username or manually deactivate the user duplicates in the database (set active=0) (DB: cwd_user.active)
