      Problem Definition

      Currently, there is no way of having a report generated to calculate how long an issue was in a particular status. This will help to identify best performers and issues which do not follow the correct timeline of an issue.

      Suggested Solution

      Implement reports that could:

      • Order issues by resolution time (to identify long running/complex ones)
      • Order issues by status
      • Order issues by users and times they took to solve issues assigned to them.
      • Order issues by projects to identify what not keeping up with project timeline/delaying the project.

      Workaround

      To utilise the tab Transitions when viewing an issue. However, this is only available issue by issue.

            Dashboard Hub by Appfire is a great add-on with multiple gadgets and lots of functionality. Appfire recently released a Time in Status gadget, and it provides a great view and allows for some flexibility. Dashboard links can be shared but the export is to a .png (I wish it were to .pdf; maybe one day). Get a trial, you might like it.

            Hi 50414d060832. IMO, Actionable Agile Analytics is the best tool on the market for analyzing flow of Jira issues through workflows (e.g., cycle times, aging work in progress by status, process bottlenecks with cumulative flow diagrams, etc.) As great as Actionable Agile is for interactive analysis, it lacks the capability to publish reports/dashboards for consumption in Jira and/or Confluence. If you want to add better time in status reporting to native Jira, then I suggest figuring out how to incorporate views such as those offered by Actionable Agile, but as saved reports and/or dashboard gadgets.

            Hi everyone,

            Thank you for your feedback & comments on this ticket to date. I’m a Product Manager on the Jira team currently exploring how we can improve Jira Reports and specifically investigating how we might address this ticket in our future roadmap. To help shape our approach, I’d love to better understand some of the context and use cases discussed here. If you’re interested in a 30-minute session to help shape our plans, you can book some time in my calendar here: https://calendly.com/lisafeedback/jira-reports-feedback

            Jira's REST API does not give Time in Status data. It rather gives you raw issue history on which you can make your own calculations for Time in Status data.

            If you want to get calculated Time in Status data, you can use the Time in Status app built by my team at OBSS. Our app has a REST API that you can use to get calculated Time in Status data and more.

            Our app even has Excel and Google Sheets template files that can be used to get our app data directly into a spreadsheet.

            I understand the Time in Status data can be extracted via REST API. But can we get access to the data via Jira Cloud for Excel so that the data can be extracted easier.

            Is there going to be any movement on this request?

            Additionally to the existed recommendation, if you're ok with using third-party add-ons from the Atlassian Marketplace, I guess trying Time in Status for Jira Cloud by my SaaSJet team.

            It provides 7 main types of status time reports;

            Provide Cycle and Lead time reports;

            Allows monitoring time in status data directly on the issue card layout (it saves lots of time)

            You can share reports with colleagues or third-party add-ons; or export it to CSV or XLSX files for further analysis if needed.
