      Atlassian Update – 09 September 2024

      Hi everyone,

Thank you for taking the time to share your challenges around project administration at scale. We recognise that privilege escalation can be a major challenge in using Jira, which is why we are taking steps to improve the flexibility of our permission scheme at all levels. That journey begins with our Extended Project Admin capabilities, which will be released by the end of this year, and which we hope will be just the first step in making Jira permissions more granular and powerful.

Please don't hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or feedback.

      Regards,
      Aditi Dalal

      Original request description:

As a JIRA Administrator I find it more difficult to manage JIRA configuration as my organisation grows. I need to be able to share some of my administrative powers with other people, but I do not want to give them all the management rights, because I am afraid they are going to break things. Each of the projects run in JIRA has its own manager and it would be best if I could give the configuration permissions related to the projects to the respective project managers.
