Hi,
When a user is creating an issue through the portal and we have validations in "Create Issue" transition, if one of the validations fails, the issue will not be created as expected, but the user is always shown an unspecific message, unlike when the issue is being created through JIRA's conventional UI. In this last case the issue will be shown the custom message provided by the failing validator.
Example: Validation in "Create Issue" transition to ensure at least 5 characters in issue description:
I'm using boolean validator of JIRA Workflow Toolbox plugin:
I think that the custom message provided by validators should be included in the message shown to portal users, even if you include additional information like administrator's contact link, which are not included when issue is created through JIRA's conventional GUI.
I have created this issue as a bug because proposals do not allow to attach files.
Thank you,
Fidel
