As a customer, I don't want to get Service-Desk notification emails for my own issue creation

    • We collect Jira Service Desk feedback from various sources, and we evaluate what we've collected when planning our product roadmap. To understand how this piece of feedback will be reviewed, see our Implementation of New Features Policy.

NOTE: This suggestion is for JIRA Service Desk Server. Using JIRA Service Desk Cloud? See the corresponding suggestion.

      Problem Definition

For a project which is associated with ServiceDesk, if a user creates a Service Desk Request (through the Customer Portal or Email), then the Create Issue notification is sent by mail to the Reporter even if there are no users marked to be notified on that event in the Notification Scheme.

            Hi all,

Customization of service desk notifications is now available on Cloud! It's easy to turn off the notification sent when requests are created. To find out more about this feature, check out our documentation here: https://confluence.atlassian.com/servicedeskcloud/managing-service-desk-notifications-732528936.html

Note: Service Desk notifications are not controlled by the JIRA notification scheme.

This enhancement will be available for Server in an upcoming major server release.

By the way... when cloning an issue, I can't change the issue type. That's why it came out as a bug (although the description is formulated as a user story, therefore should hint at this not being a bug report).

I am aware of this behaviour. That's why I created this feature request!

            Hi adrian.hass,

Service Desk notifications when enabled ignore JIRA notification scheme.
It is documented in detail here - https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/SERVICEDESK/Configuring+JIRA+Service+Desk+notifications
Service Desk sends notifications on user's own comments to that user, only if the comment has triggered an auto-transition.

            Cheers!
            Service Desk team.
