      17 March 2022 Update:

      Hi all!

The rollout of ProForma (Forms for Jira) is now complete and should be available to all customers under Project Settings > Forms.

      The Documentation is available here

      Regards,

      Simon Herd

Principal Product Manager, Jira Service Management

      Problem Definition

Customer facing Service Desks often need to cater to a variety of problems that are similar in nature. Many Service Desk type solutions offer the ability for forms to be dynamic, so that the options chosen in one form, display different options in subsequent fields.

      Suggested Solution

JIRA Service Desk should provide some form of functionality to create 'advanced' forms that can be customised to allow dynamic functionality.

      Workaround

Add-On vendors provide this behaviour, for example: Extension (aka Service Pack for JSD)

In a cascading select, I need to be able to Default the Parent and Allow the Child to be displayed on the form.

We currently use a widget for dynamic fields - but the dynamic fields do not appear on the JSD widget. If dynamic fields could be native to JSD or the dynamic fields could be pulled through to the widget, it would be ideal and greatly increase our ability for larger JSD adoption across our corporation.

This is one of the most wanted features for most of the portals we configure for users. Some of them are very surprised that it is not possible to base the values of one field on another.

Hello we recently purchased JIRA Core Cloud  in my department. Is there a way to create forms whose field options change depending on the value selected in the first field?

            Thank You

            Hi, there.

It is critically for me to have an ability to place dynamic JQL-based and Groovy-scripted fields in JIRA Service Desk Customer Portal.

I've already done this stuff in general JIRA  interface. Now it's turn to run Dynamic fields under Customer Portal.

Zans, the dynamic fields works well. You have to make a choice, have dynamic fields in JIRA or dynamic fields in ServiceDesk, if you don't want to pay for both plugins.

Paul, we have now migrated from AoD to Hosted and are evaluating bringing on the dynamic forms add ons to our instance. Are you saying that you are happy with them, but wish that you didn't have to buy a separate license for JIRA and for JSD?

            Thanks for your input,
            Zans

            Hi,
Unfortunately, onDemand version is not supported. Yu can reuse Dynamic Select in Customer Portal but you have to configure hide/show depending. This is because we've decided to maintain second place to keep this configuration. We don't want to affect Dynamic Forms configuration's.

            Hello Paul,

It seems that your plugin is only for downloaded version. Do you have plans to make the plugin available for OnDemand version as well?

We have this plugin as well. The only issues is that is doesn't make use of dynamic fields. Therefore, you can only have dynamic fields via the portal and not via JIRA or via JIRA and not via the portal. It is surprising as both plugins have been developed by the same company.
