    • Our product teams collect and evaluate feedback from a number of different sources. To learn more about how we use customer feedback in the planning process, check out our new feature policy.

Further sorting / ordering / reordering options are needed for the following sections of the issue view when viewing an epic / parent issue:

      • Child issues
      • Linked issues
      • Subtasks

Currently, there are a few options for child issues:
      Issue in company-managed project:

      Issue in company-managed project:

This ticket requests that further fields be added to that drop-down (beyond Created, Key etc) and that the other sections in the issue view (Subtasks and Linked issues) also be given the option to sort.

[JRACLOUD-78353] Add more sort / order by options in the child / subtask / linked issues section when viewing an epic / parent issue

Great catch on the workaround 13f501460608!! We tested it and it also does work for us.

The only caveat, is that if you have A LOT of Jira work items in your project, for specifically business projects (and maybe other types?) the visual parent/child relationship breaks in list and timeline views when you filter. So if you're a busy team and game for scrolling a long time to find what you need...yay!

            @all,

You can manually sort out the tasks under the epic - go to Kanban/Scrum, Timeline.
On Timeline screen you can drag up/down the tickets under the epic.

Why it's not done for epic and why this ticket is Gathering Interest three years I have no idea.

Heavy . It's so weird not being able to manually sort the tasks within Epic. Also, the sorting options are not enough

Sub-task re-ordering has been added. Need this on Linked Issues and Child Issues.

+1. I came here looking for exactly this. I'm not sure how to get the dependency tree as a list with the current tools.

I really need this. Manual soriting of items in ticket view on all levels Program Epic, Epic, Story, Stubtask is crucial to build "Sandwich" wich you can take to your next PI, Quater Planning, OKR or whatever scrumban-waterfall approach you have.

I would like to be able to organize the order of the child issues under any epic ticket in the same way I can order subtask tickets under a child ticket which is drag-and-drop. I hope this change request is implemented soon.

I would love to have a drag and drop feature for sorting child issues.

I agree with 13f501460608 How long does this issue needs to stay on the 'gathering interest' status before any action will be taken on this highly requested feature that should be a basic thing?

While you're at it yjiang@atlassian.com , would love to just make the order by sticky. It only lasts for a second until you leave the page. I always like to look at mine by priority (or due date when that's available), so it's super annoying to have to change it every time.

            Thanks for all you do!
