As a user editing/viewing an Epic,

I want to be able to drag-drop the issues shown in the "Issues in this Epic" list,

so I can stack-rank them in priority order.

[JRACLOUD-67651] Allow rank re-ordering in Epic issues list

mhunter, as mentioned by 7f4bc0eb3d5e, adjusting the rank from the backlog does not work well right now because Jira seems to use the scope of the sprint to adjust rankings, hence, when changing the order of cards in the sprint they get out of order compared to other cards from the same epic that are in other sprints or in the backlog. The issue is maintaining the consistency of the rank across the children of an epic. Allowing the reordering of child issues from the epic screen helps with that, but does not address the consistency issue after all.

Unfortunately the Backlog is not a perfect way to adjust the rank. I have a card in the current sprint. I added cards to the Epic and tried to rank them with the Backlog. The card in the Sprint is getting ranked lower than all of the cards in the Backlog.

The workaround is not the best way to handle and manage reordering (prioritization) of issues that are under an EPIC.

I want to be able to see visually 'package' that i'll cover in upcoming sprints and scope better the EPIC through my issues.

Please consider this, I don't see any blocking point, design wise to add arrow to "top" "down" issue dynamically.

Huh, I reported this one. Good job, past me!

My current workaround for this is to filter the backlog by the Epic, using the Epics pane on the left. Assuming you have your backlog set to ranking enabled (which you should), you can shuffle the stack there. In fact you can manage everything except the Epic's content itself that way, which might be more efficient for you.

I also wish I could create a new story in an empty epic from the epic's screen, instead of the standard Create screen. But that's a different request.

Please consider this. It's so painful to properly order issues in EPIC. Its need to be bring clarity.

It's a mess when I have more than 10 issues.
