I'd like to be able to add a quick filter which displays a drop-down for all possible values for a field. For example, I'd like to add a filter based upon Epic/Theme or Fix Version - the latter would work just like the Fix Version filter on the task board.

This is similar to the request to be able to create swimlanes based upon all the possible values for a field (GHS-4669)

[JSWSERVER-4735] Quick filters which displays a drop-down for each value for a field

Since 2016, there is a fully working solution that covers all requirements mentioned here - [Agile Tools & Filters|https://marketplace.atlassian.com/apps/1215334/agile-tools-filters-for-jira-software?tab=overview&hosting=server].

Unfortunately the company for which I work has chosen to move from ALM to Jira ... Atlassian ignore cloud development too (I have needed features I see documented for Jira Server, and the disparity between Company and Team Managed features is frustrating),  I wonder how much will be lost in productivity vs (what I can only guess to be) the license cost.  Not only features, but the slow performance of cloud is ridiculous.

What an absolute waste of time this issue is if Atlassian haven't stuck to the "We'll review in 12 months".

2018 is when that post was made. FIVE YEARS AGO.

This is a simple feature. Atlassian will say to you: "Cloud has this feature" when clearly, larger businesses do not care about that.

Not implementing feature parity between Jira DC and Cloud is a sure fire way of losing customers.

We switched to Linear about a year ago, and that was the best decision ever for me as a project manager and all developers. Jira must be one of the most slowly products to adapt to customer feedback.

Any further consideration?... we're now in 2023 and no update here.

This feature is readily available in zenhub and makes the kanban board incredibly powerful for querying tickets.

I'm extremely surprised that Jira is so far behind on this. If it isn't done this'll always be a reason to push moving to a tool like zenhub instead.

Is anybody consolidating the requests?  Adding JSWCLOUD-4735 will bring the votes Over 1000.

Surely this is a must have feature (which was requested YEARS ago)?

Please guys! it is not possible that you don't have this functionality in Jira boards!! how do you do to manage a lot of requirements without having to create a new board everytime you need to filter by some field? it is unthinkble to create a quick filter for each value and consume a lot of effort. It is horrible for your eyes too.

+1. As I'm sure you are aware, quick filters become quite unwiedly if you have to specify each value as it's own filter. Good for a couple things, bad when there are a dozen options. Multiply that by 5 or 6 different fields you want to filter on and it's absolute mayhem.

I would also suggest that an update is warranted as there are 600 upvotes, this story was logged 8yrs ago, but it's been 2.5yrs since you last updated us. Thanks much

Please add it now, you included a dropdown FIlter within the  Roadmap

Just gain a quick win and add it like this to the agile boards, perhaps add a Dropdown for project / component / assignee / reporter

A drop-down control is present since Windows 3.1 and even in Text-based GUI's at 80's. I myself implemented someone when I was a young developer.

I cannot imagine what is the difficulty on implementing it for a company as Atlassian with far talented people in his staff

Do it as Google and let some developers to use a % of their time to make happy to millions of users around the world !!!

I could really use the ability to  filter my Jira board by assignee. I use the "Only My Issues" quick filter frequently, but I'd like to be able to do that for all of my team members without making a quick filter for each person.

We would love to have a quick filter drop down on the Jira Kan-ban/ Scrum boards where we can separate based off Epics / Features / Labels I know that next gen has the Epic Quick Filter, but for Classic View it would be Extremely useful.

Is this actually still in "Future Consideration"?
Social media platforms allow an easier search nowadays - then when I get to the work screen I'm quite surprised to find out that the labels aren't used in the quick search box of a Kanban board - what's the point of having labels then?

Is Atlassian planning to introduce hashtags then?

Why isn't this available already? Or at least have it for labels. Because why else allow me the option to add labels? After adding a lot of labels to many JIRAs, I find out that I can't use them to filter or select in e.g. Jira backlog. Bit frustrated now... I can use Epics, yes I know, but Epics are there for another reason, as are labels. Building a simple option to filter or search on (used/applied) labels, that shouldn't be so hard and would help me and  plenty other users I'm sure.

If I'm wrong or if there's an alternative, please let me know.

Someone recommended the following Add-on: Agile Filters for Jira

It works for the most part. While we have encountered no issues so far with several of the drop downs, the "Labels" drop down behaves strangely; we cannot filter by certain labels, even if we type the value in exactly as they are on the ticket.

It is also worth noting that you currently cannot filter the values in the drop downs (i.e. by Kanban or project). For example, where we have several projects, with project specific issue types associated to them, filtering by issue type is not as streamline as it could potentially be.

We would find it extremely valuable if we could select components in this manner. We have a small team working on a project composed of many small components.

If a user could filter a kanban board to just display issues related to the specific components that they are working on using a drop down menu then this would be much cleaner than having to create separate filters for each individual component.

This would also avoid the need to create a new sub filter whenever a change requestor requires a new component to be created, making board maintenence more streamlined in the loing term.

Edit - The Jira board filters addon is not available to us as we use Jira Cloud

The old Jira UI Board had assignee buttons, those disappeared in the new UI replaced by a cumbersome dropdown.  This is a major regression to me.  Since Atlassian moves slow, I'm trying to find a Chrome plugin script or even write a Selenium script + keyboard shortcut to compensate.

+1 for implementing this feature. In fact, this should be already present from early releases considering how users perform queries on JIRA.

Starting the year 2018. How hard can it be to implement Component or label dropdown as a Quick filter?

We really need this for browsing backlog. Its not easy to find whether certain issue already exists. Filtering by component would ease this a lot for us.

Stop making the useless UI facelifts and start making the features that your users really request! We pay a lot for Jira cloud and except it to be updated frequently. Not every 5 years.

I desperate need such feature in JIRA cloud.

In the mobile app there is an option to select multiple assignee and view only their issues in the board. I'd like to have this kind of an option also on the web interface

            I really need this feature.

5+ year for one requested feature. It seems to be that Atlassian does not care its clients.

            So disappointed about JIRA.

What Andrew said. This question is already 5 years old. How is it possible that a simple 'is one of' like filter is not available yet?

If the question is about how to implement it, how about this:

            • Add a new Quick Filter JQL operator "is one of" that signals the interface to provide a checkbox list
            • While building the JQL, detect the "is one of" operator and provide a checkbox list of which items to include. Put these as a comma separated quoted list in the JQL
              • Example: assignee is one of "John Smith","Joe Programmer","Fred Customer"
            • In the Quick Filter section on the board, list it as a title and a dropdown indicator. The dropdown would have checkboxes next to each value in the comma-separated list

It would allow us to get this much needed functionality and have it in-line with what we already have. Thoughts?

How do we float this up the backlog?  Can we bribe you?  Beer?  Voodoo doughnuts?

            Hello mjopson!

Could you please consider to buy and integrate this plugin in the JIRA Agile core, so we can continue to follow the core feature - accidentially implemented as a plug-in - here?

            Thanks,

Hi, we use your Plugin (Quick Filters) but I am still missing one Feature: check all (e.g. in the status drop down... if you want to mark all of them you need to check them one by one... so please add someting such as check all/uncheck all). Everything else ist great
