Canned Responses Enhancements - public vs. private, edit rights, change order etc.

    • We collect Jira Service Desk feedback from various sources, and we evaluate what we've collected when planning our product roadmap. To understand how this piece of feedback will be reviewed, see our Implementation of New Features Policy.

      The canned responses in JSD are useful but rather limited.  All canned responses are global and editable by anyone, the usual ability to set permissions doesn't exist for canned responses.  The order in which they appear seems to be create order (maybe) and can't be changed.

      The following enhancements are required:

      • Separate global and personal (private) canned responses
      • Group responses e.g. so different teams can have their own sets of canned responses
      • Permissioning - who can create/edit/delete global ones
      • Permissioning - who can view/use so that that specific teams can be set to only see the ones they need
      • Permissioning - who is allowed to create private ones
      • Change order of the shortlist, so specific responses can be "promoted"
