The "Setting up request types" documentation includes a section on "Hidden fields and unsupported fields" that includes a partial list of fields that cannot be shown in the portal.
This suggestion is to update the list of fields to include all fields that cannot be shown in the customer portal.
In Service Desk 3.1.2, the following fields are available in the portal:

The following fields are not able to be added to the customer portal. These can be added to a request type if they are hidden and have a preset value.
