      Atlassian Update – 10 March 2021

      Hi everyone,

Thank you for your interest in this issue.

After reviewing this suggestion we believe that it was resolved in JSD 4.8 with the introduction of duplicate attachment detection:

When customers raise requests over email, the email body is added to the request’s description. This often includes some unwanted media like marketing images, company logos, and everything else from the email’s footer. With every new comment or update, these images get duplicated, making it difficult to find anything important. We’ve heard your feedback and changed it—Jira Service Desk will now detect and ignore any duplicates, leaving your requests nice and clean.

Please provide further details if there are additional use cases you would like us to consider in relation to image attachments.

      Kind regards,

      Charlie

When you use the JSD with the email channel and someone with pictures in their signature sends in a issue.

Then it will add the pictures as attachments and as a comment with the pictures.

It would be nice to be able to remove signatures (including pictures) or be able to remove pictures in the body of the mail and only receive the pictures attached to the email

          Form Name

[JSDSERVER-2090] Be able to remove images in mail body

Thanks for the update Charlie! Is it possible to remove all images from the original email that opened the issue?

Are there any updates on this issue? Love what you've done with the new issues view, feels a lot more every comment is adding huge individual images which just ruin all the work done.

Does anyone have any work arounds or abilities to mitigate this effect?

            @Harald,

I agree with you, ZenDesk wins here as it strips the images from signatures automatically and flawlessly. Atlassian should work on that to keep up with ZenDesk.

            Dear Atlassian Helpdesk Team,

This is being asked for in different places by many different Atlassian customers.

Can we at least have a response or an answer about whether you're going to do this?
