    • We collect Jira Service Desk feedback from various sources, and we evaluate what we've collected when planning our product roadmap. To understand how this piece of feedback will be reviewed, see our Implementation of New Features Policy.

NOTE: This suggestion is for JIRA Service Desk Server. Using JIRA Service Desk Cloud? See the corresponding suggestion.

As of JSD 1.0, service desk reports are just displayed on the web page. The user should be given the option to export both the graph and the underlying report data. (preferably PDF, also Word, Excel where applicable)

This became more important when I checked the DB and saw that SLA field information in the database is pretty hard to understand.

Click right on your CSV file , "open with" , Excel.

If columns are not looking good, then open the file with Notepad, press Ctrl + h and replace all commas with semicolons.  Save and try to open with Excel again.

You can ask this kind of question in the community next time, you'll probably get better answers then in this.

            Hi everyone,

How can I open reports CSV?
It would be more convenient to export them to Excel, Word, PDF

The csv export works fine for individual days in my custom reports.
But for the summary it does not include any data, just a list of dates

I would settle for just being able to print the report. At present screen capture, cut it with paint, insert into document.
            Any better suggestions?

We have clients that need to send reports to the companies where the Customers work - to show the SLA's are being met. Usually on a monthly basis, but it would be great to be able to have the reports exportable as requested above. Thank you!

Hi Shihab, my priorities would be

            1) using the report in Confluence and a Jira dashboard
            2) exporting data to csv/excel
            3) sharing with non-agents
            4) exporting chart to PDF

            Hi guys,

Exporting reports is not on our short-term roadmap but we would like to get a better understanding of what you would like to see prioritised so that we can work on the most valuable aspect first.

Which of the following is most important to you?

            1. Exporting the data powering a report to CSV / Excel
            2. Exporting the data powering a report to PDF
            3. Exporting the chart to PDF
            4. Sharing the chart image with non-agents
            5. Using the chart in a Confluence page or a JIRA dashboard as a gadget

            Thanks!

Better Excel Plugin also supports exporting JIRA Service Desk specific custom fields to Excel. You can either export the Issue Navigator's content to XLSX (note: all columns will have the optimal data type and conditional formatting!) or create full-blown Excel reports with multi-dimensional pivot tables (and charts) from your tickets.

Export or freeze a report is also necessary if you have colleagues who change the the team e.g. from first to second level. Within that you change the groups of the user and your reports e.g. first resolution within first level will become not correct.

It seems counterintuitive that in order to view the reports, you have to be a Service Desk Agent. Typically it's upper management that wants to view these reports, and making an upper manager an agent is a waste of a license, since your management is unlikely to be the one working the queues. There should be either a secondary role of "management" in Service Desk that doesn't consume a service desk license but grants access to ONLY the reports, or make the report tool open to administrators of the project, or a specific project role.

PDF View Plugin can export the JIRA Service Desk-specific custom field types like SLA, Customer Request Type, to PDF. Other fields used by SD are regular (built-in) JIRA custom fields. Those are also supported, allowing you to get reports with possibly any data in Service Desk.

Albeit this will not give you graphical reports (although you can do custom charting or gadgets, too), it can give you customizable list like the one below. Bonus: you can fully automate this process, forget it and let it auto-email the reports to your customers periodically.

I would have thought that the exporting of reports would be included as an integral part of Service desk 2.0. We need this functionality if we are going to successfully take on service desk for our ticketing and support.

            Thanks

Exporting it to Confluence would be great. My customer wants to report on a monthly basis his SLA's, using the reports of JSD. If you could create those reports in Confluence using gadgets to show the reports you're done.
