NOTE: This bug report is for JIRA Service Desk Server. Using JIRA Service Desk Cloud? See the corresponding bug report.

I've created a custom field of type «select list (single choice)» and configured on a ServiceDesk item as required.

The behaviour observed is that the first item is automatically selected and therefore the mandatory requirement will be always honoured. Unfortunately this behaviour tends to collect wrong values from the user…

The behaviour expected is that the input field is empty OR prompted with a «none» option… so to force the user to select the appropriate value

[JSDSERVER-1352] Incorrectly managed «select list (single choice)» custom fields

Absolutely not: the user MUST provide an explicit value and cannot bypass the mandatory check just because the none has been picked automatically

At least the Default option should be shown as selected instead if the first option in the list I suppose the Option list could be reordered as a sort of workaround but it's not great
