Portal shows None option for single select list when it is required and has a default value

Service Desk is not respecting the default value in a select list.

      Steps to reproduce:

      • Create a custom select list field with a default value;
      • Add the field to the Customer Portal, as required
      • When creating a ticket the "None" option should not be displayed.

      That's the opposite from JSD-364.

Thanks Matthew, I will upgrade the JIRA service desk to 2.3.4 and if any issue will be there, I will get back to you.

            Hi maheshdubey29

            Thanks for your reply.

This issue was fixed, and included in the JSD 2.3.4 release. If you are able to update to that, or a newer version, than this problem should be solved for you.

If after updating you are still experiencing problems, please be sure to raise a new bug.

            Regards
            Matt

I am Also facing the same problem. By doing the required configuration for removing none from the list, At the agent side None option is removed successfully, but on customer portal, "None" option is still there.

            Hi aquadrospetry

I have updated the summary and description to correspond to my understanding of the issue, and fix required.

If this is not correct, can I please request some additional details / reproduction steps for a required single select field with a default value, selecting None, as for my testing, when a default is selected in JIRA, it is being selected correctly in the portal (but None is currently being displayed as an Option as well, erroneously).

            Thanks
            Matt

I have not been able to reproduce the default selection behaviour, as for me, the correct option is selected.

However I have identified a regression, in that the none option should not be displayed when a default value is specified for a required field.

Exactly, mmcmahon. The none option is selected as default instead.

            Hi aquadrospetry,

Just to confirm, is the issue here that in JSD 2.2.1 when a required select list field has a default value, the None option should not be displayed, but currently it is?

            Regards

This was working properly in JIRA Service Desk 2.2.0. I believe the fix for JSD-364 broke the behavior.
