      Problem Definition

As of now, the Knowledge Base articles from help center will be displayed in a new page with a smaller space to display the information when it's clicked. However, this may loose the content therefore impact the user experience.

      Suggested Solution

[JSDCLOUD-3983] Use full page to display knowledge base article

            Hello Joseph,

I have a 8 column table in my KB article.

When I view the article in the service desk portal, it shows the header of the table under the name of the article. When I click on the article, the table is rendered fine.

I have tried multiple options but the table header is still visible and basically looks like garbage text.

How do we suppress the table header in the portal view

            Hello everyone

We have further increased the width of the knowledge articles, this allows for wider tables and 3-column layouts to render correctly in the helpcentre/portal.

            Hi @Joseph,

Can this enhancement request be re-opened? Per one of our users - "The biggest problem i have with the light weight version in JSM is that the user has no context where the article is coming from…in other words they cannot see the hierarchy of how this article fits into the overall space."

            Thanks,

            Samantha

we are moving our KB away from JSM because of this feature and may other bugs with the JSM portal

            Hi @Joseph,

Knowledge base articles are still too narrow for our purposes. Can this ticket be re-opened, or should we raise a new ticket?

Our KB articles contain wide tables, which currently display with a horizontal scrollbar, but cannot be printed to PDF (via the Chrome browser) without the right-hand columns being cropped out of the table.

            Kind regards,
            Luke

            Hello everyone

I'm Joe, Product manager in JSM, focusing on building a good Knowledge base experience for the users and your customers.

We have increased the knowledge article width in the customer portal,

            • Your portal customers will now have a better reading experience with wider space for articles
            • You can add bigger images and wider tables

            We are working on:

            • Enabling a view that is similar to the view in Confluence of JSM agent view.
            • On click zoom-in images
            • Playing video inline
            • Rendering macro styles on par with Confluence.

very much needed.  This feels like a purposeful restriction in order to drive to paid 3rd party apps like Scroll Viewport, etc.  seems like it should be a frustratingly simple resolution .  Problem with Scroll Viewport is there's no way to lock the KB down to registered Jira service management users.
