Having the same issue as @Sooji Lee, de "i" in some field descriptions are showing, some are not. I tried editing from Field Configuration Edit Page, but still is not showing.

hi folks, I did everything mentioned above, and my problem is I see the field descriptions when I create a new issue.  But when I open the issue, some of my fields have the "i" icon but others don't.  I've gone through field configuration, to edit, and save, and re-edit, giving the system time to realign itself, but still some the "i" icon won't show up for especially the issues I'm trying to get it to show up for.  

@Guy Anela Wow! That is ridiculous! Having said that, it does seem to make this work so thanks for walking me through it. 

Hi @Anita Suri - When you load the Edit page in the Field Configuration, it simply defaults (pre-populates) the Description from the original field description. ...so you'll need to make sure you actually Save it after you open it to Edit (even though it's already there).    ...I know, not very intuitive but that's how I got it to work for me. 

@Guy Anela I've tried that as well: Field Configuration Schemes >> Clicked on my scheme >> Clicked on my field configuration >> Found the field listed and clicked Edit

The description is populating there fine, but still isn't visible on the issue view.

Hey @Anita Suri - I had the same problem. To address it, I had to go to the Field Configuration scheme itself, select Edit for the field, and Save the Description there. ...not ideal.

Bad wording on my part as well, but that's what I meant. I hovered over the title of the field itself and am not getting the "i" icon for some custom fields.

Anita Suri - you have to hover over the title of the field, not the field itself. The description of the fix is a bit misleading because it says the "i" icon will appear if you hover over the field. I figured it out by chance.

I'm still having problems with this not working for some custom fields. I've set the description and can see it under the Custom Fields section:

I can also see it when I look at the field from the specific field configuration:

But on the actual view issue screen, it doesn't show up when I hover over the field title. Already tried clearing my cache, didn't help.

A toggle switch to hide/show the full descriptions would be nice. By default it would show the full descriptions but give the user the ability to hide them so they can "clear the clutter". If it's disabled (hidden), then it would simply show the small "i" icon (as it is now) so the user can still hover over it. You get the best of both worlds.
