Summary
Links with URLs containing certain non-alphanumeric characters fail to save
Steps to Reproduce
- Click open any issue
- Click on More and then Link
- Select Web Link
Example:http://company/projects/Shared%20Documents/Forms/AllItems.aspx?RootFolder=%2Fprojectweb%2FShared%20Documents%2FFF%20ER&FolderCTID=0E128&View= {A6-4B6B-44A79F36}
- Put a link with non-alphanumeric characters
- Save it by clicking on Link
Expected Results
The Link should be saved and viewable on the issue like any other web link.
Actual Results
Doesn't save. We get the following error on the UI
Invalid 'URL'. Make sure you include the full URL (e.g. http://www.google.com).
Workaround
- Go to Google Shortner at https://goo.gl/
- Paste the URL
- Google will generate a short url for your URL which you will be able to link in JIRA.
- Google will also be change your long URL to characters, which can also be saved onto JIRA
