Original Request.

Currently, if you use the post-function that allows you to copy a parent's value from any field you specify, it will cause an error when testing in workflow.

This happens for copying the Fix Version value from a parent to subtask. When transitioning an issue, the following error appears "Error creating issue: Unable to copy value from field 'Labels' to 'Labels'"

In order to fix this, you must move the post-function to the end of the other post-functions.

There is another scenario that this request would help.

Problem Definition

When you have a Post Function Copy Value From Other Field in the Create Transition of your workflow and value is being copied from a Custom Field and then you remove this Custom Field and try to Create an Issue in the project, you got an error message but it doesn't inform that the error has been caused by an invalid Post Function in your Workflow.

This is the error that you get:

We can't create this issue for you right now, it could be due to unsupported content you've entered into one or more of the issue fields. If this situation persists, contact your administrator as they'll be able to access more specific information in the log file.

Suggested Solution

The error message could inform that it's not possible to Create the issue because there is an invalid Post Function configured in the Workflow.

Why this is important

It's important because the User would understand why the Issue wasn't created and could easily fix it.
