Ability to add options to a multi user/group picker

      NOTE: This suggestion is for JIRA Cloud. Using JIRA Server? See the corresponding suggestion.

      In some situations we want to be able to limit the groups/users that a jira user would be able to choose from, for example we have a 'Teams to Notify' field, which is used in the notification scheme. We want to be able to allow a few groups to be chosen, rather than the entire list of groups. The field would have to be implemented more like a multi select, rather than a text field as currently is the case.

            I believe this issue is a duplicate of JRACLOUD-40963 – User picker (multi user) user filtering feature which is newer but has more votes.

            I recommend that watchers of this issue vote on and watch the above issue. So that votes aren't split, I believe this ticket should be closed, but I will wait a week before taking any action in case anyone thinks both issues should continue to exist. Thank you!

            Why is there the ability to attach a group (limit by group members) the user picker (single user) custom field type but not for the user picker (multiple users) custom field type? Really need this for security.

            @Radhu - It is not solved by the plugin you reference as the plugin is not available for Cloud.

            Problem is solvable using this plugin: https://goo.gl/TYc2OR . It does a lot more than you are requesting, but that comes just as a bonus

            You can only select groups, which you are member of, when sharing filters / dashboards / etc. Even as Administrators.
            Understandable, but annoying.

            If I could apply the same restriction on custom group picker, I would be sooo happy.
