While working with a client they requested that depending on what is selected in the first field, that this would determine what other fields appear (auto-fill options to be enabled, especially in cascaded fields).
The reason for this was to remove unnecessary optional fields from the Customer Portal, and ensure only the information they needed to complete would appear in front of them.
