Outgoing emails from JIRA Service Desk should support plain text format as in JIRA

      NOTE: This suggestion is for JIRA Service Desk Server. Using JIRA Service Desk Cloud? See the corresponding suggestion.

      Emails from JIRA can be plain text format by each JIRA user's specifying in his/her own profile preferences. However, emails from JIRA Service Desk are always HTML format even if users choose 'text' in their own profile preferences.

            Hi, this seems still to be an issue. I've set my account prefs to 'Text', but getting emails in HTML (the issue CA-133930).

            My apologies for this confusion. This feature has not been released on OnDemand yet. It already releases on BTF (v2.3).

            The next release of OnDemand will have this feature: 2.4-OD-02.

            Yes i did before which , bu it is not working for service desk customer , it works on only jira user.

            Hi hakan.otal,

            Service Desk users doesn't have option to change notification type yet. But their accounts should use the default setting from JIRA. Did you follow the step above the change the default settings? You can use "apply" to override the settings of existing users. If those steps don't work, I would recommend you to raise a support ticket (https://support.atlassian.com) so that we can have deeper investigation.

            First of all i am sorry for my wrong question.
            I mean that ok we can change jira user with your explanation way.
            But service desk user does not have any options on their profile and Jira admin can not change their mail sender options.

            Jira mail sender logs are below for jira user and service desk user.
            Please look at content type fields.

            JIRA Admin can change the default email format for JIRA and Service Desk will respect that setting. To change the JIRA email notification type:

            • login as JIRA admin.
            • Type 'gg' and go to 'Default User Preferences'.
            • Click [Edit default values] button.
            • Change email format to HTML.
            • Click Update to persist the change.
            • Click apply if you want to force all old users use HTML.

            We dont want to use default txt email format , our customer want to get email HTML format.

            Any idea on an ETA on this? This is literally the one thing that's holding us back from deploying Service Desk to our users.

            Please increase the priority on this.

            I agree, this issue should be brought up in priority.
            We need the text-email in order to integrate our JIRA with other parts of our system that only accept text.
            The configuration in user profile should be valid for Service desk as well!
