Add option to send email to customer with attachment as files and not links

    • We collect Jira Service Desk feedback from various sources, and we evaluate what we've collected when planning our product roadmap. To understand how this piece of feedback will be reviewed, see our Implementation of New Features Policy.

      NOTE: This suggestion is for JIRA Service Desk Server. Using JIRA Service Desk Cloud? See the corresponding suggestion.

      We do not utilize the portal side of service desk at all, however we utilize the email requesting aspect of service desk to handle incoming requests from customers. We have instructed our customer service team to always utilize Jira to respond to the customer via email, however whenever they try to send attachments, it only will send url links to the attachments as opposed to the files themselves attached to the email.

      We need this feature with service desk.

            Apart from the other replies, you can also use Mail Attachments for JIRA Service Desk that has been released exclusively to address this problem:

            We too need this functionality as our customers are not interested to go through the portal login process and downloading the attachment before being able to see the attachment contents.

            Requesting Atlassian to pick up this feature for implementation ASAP.

            This really is an issue for us as well

            We do not have any interest in exposing the portal to our clients for now.

            Yet we need to send documents, images and screen shots directly NOT Via SYSTEM LINK to a server they can not access.

            Please consider this higher priority in your queue.
