The link to attachments on JIRA Service Desk notification is redirecting to Customer Portal

      NOTE: This bug report is for JIRA Service Desk Server. Using JIRA Service Desk Cloud? See the corresponding bug report.

      If an agent attaches a file to an issue and add a link to it on a comment, the customer will receive a notification of this comment containing the link. If the customer click on the link, Customer Portal homepage(Log in page) is opened instead of the attachment and user needs to log in.

      Steps to reproduce

      • Attach file to an issue
      • Send a comment including the link
        e.g.
      • Check notification e-mail and click on the link provided

      However, after several tests we noticed that some links opened the attachment. Same attachment on different issues.

      As we tested it, it redirects the user to JIRA log in page as they don't have enough permission to read the attachments.

            We are running JSD server version 3.3.0 and this bug is most definitely not fixed. When a customer clicks on an attachment from an email, they are taken to the login page.

            We have JIRA Service Desk Cloud (3.3.0-OD-1000.564.0) and I just discovered this issue. When clicking on links in the mail you are redirected to a login page. Is there a setting somewhere to be changed?

            Hi Lucille,

            There will be a new release for Cloud available on May 31st, and so you should get the issue fixed. If the issue persists, please create an issue on support.atlassian.com so we can verify your instance and install an update.

            Apologies for all the questions but who would the release engineer be? Someone who works at Atlassian or the ADMIN owner of Jira Service Desk at my company?
            Apologies again for all the questions but I was under the impression that I am operating the latest version of the JSD and I really want this enhancement available so I am trying to figure out how to get it done asap.

            Hi Lucille,
            For the cloud version, I don't think you have to do anything for the upgrade. The release engineer will do it and It might take a few days.

            Thanks for the update. So that means the version of Service Desk that you are running does not have the fix yet. I think the release team are working on delivering this fix to cloud instances soon.
