      Atlassian Update – 19 Feb 2024

      Hi everyone,

      In Jira Service Management 5.9 we shipped the “Share requests with groups" feature, which introduces the capability to share requests with entire Jira groups. Empowering administrators to leverage the Jira's user management capabilities to effectively manage internal customer groups for JSM. This saves administrators from having to rebuild Jira groups within Organisations to enable bulk sharing of requests.

      We have a Jira group that needs to have access to requests. It would be great if we can add a group to the "Request participants" field, instead of having to add each user one by one.

      Workaround

      Many customers previously requested a way to group customers so it's easier for them to view and share each others' requests. The Jira Service Desk (now Jira Service Management) team released 'organizations' in version 3.3 to address this use case. 

      Organizations are groups of customers that you can add to multiple projects. Customers can be members of multiple organizations, and can:

      • raise requests in all projects that use the organization.  
      • view and search the organization's requests from the My Requests page in the portal.
      • receive notifications about the organization's requests.
      • share requests with the organization.

            Agreed, this still isn't possible, so why is it closed with no explanation?  Atlassian, can you please let us know the status of this?

            It seems this issue is "fixed", but not REALLY FIXED ...

            Have the functionality been removed OR why is this marked as fixed? I can't add Groups to Request Participants ...

            Resolution is set to fixed, but Fix Version isn't set. From which Service Desk version is it working?

            Hi,

            This feature would be really, really useful.

            We currently have a group of users overseas, whose systems are currently down.
            Work is being carried out on this issue and we would like to have a simple way to keep these users updated.
            We would have like to been able include this list of users as a group into the Request Participants field of the raised ticket.
            Instead, we had to identify the key contacts and add them individually.
            Taking this approach wasted a lot of time when there were more important aspects (systems down) to worry about.

            Agreed! I just submitted a ticket requesting such a feature. Please help make this possible. It would make the system a bit better.
