Customer notifications are not using the customer's browser language and defaults to project default language

      Summary

      When the preferred language is set to use the browser's language, customers notifications are ignoring this setting and defaulting to project's default language

      Steps to Reproduce

      1. Create a new Service Desk project;
      2. Set it's default language to Norwegian, add Swedish as an option;
      3. Create a new customer, it's preferred language will be their browser's language;
      4. Using a browser in Swedish, log in to the portal and create a new request

      Expected Results

      • Customer notification will be sent in Swedish

      Actual Results

      • Customer notification ignores browser language and defaults to Norwegian

      Notes

      • The request language is correctly set to Swedish but the notification is sent in Norwegian

      Workaround

      • Have the customer change their preferred language to Swedish

            We have recently rolled out a change that fixes this bug. When a new user signs up via the customer portal or submits a ticket via the anonymous portal, the customer notifications will now be received in the user's browser language at the time of signup.

            I definitely understand your frustrations but right now there are no plans to work on this as our engineers are at full capacity for the next few sprints improving customer notifications. I will let you know when there is an update to this.

            Please get around to fix this already. Its stupid silly to use many hours translating the template into 5 different languages and then the system only replies in english. Really defeats the purpose of this functionality.

            Hello, we are having a very similar issue for which the following ticket was created: https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JSDCLOUD-10726. However it is very concerning that this issue was reported 2+ years ago and it hasn't been resolved yet. I understand that it is not a high priority issue in the bigger picture however it does affect countries and regions where multiple languages are spoken and having it in the backlog for this much time is hard to understand, to be honest. Could the Atlassian team at least provide an estimated resolution time? Thanks in advance, I can tell that we are definitely not the only ones been affected by this issue.

            This affects the entire world of non-natively English speaking countries. No-one wants messages in a foreign languages, even in a lingua franca. Fixing this would take a way a central grumbling point about these tools, so I humbly suggest that a higher priority is warranted. English is spoken by 360 million people as first language - that leaves a few of us who don't and considering dollar is going down you might want to increase the amount of other currencies your company books in: business strategy wise this is a must have fix and you can't fix this sooner
