Summary
When the preferred language is set to use the browser's language, customers notifications are ignoring this setting and defaulting to project's default language
Steps to Reproduce
- Create a new Service Desk project;
- Set it's default language to Norwegian, add Swedish as an option;
- Create a new customer, it's preferred language will be their browser's language;
- Using a browser in Swedish, log in to the portal and create a new request
Expected Results
- Customer notification will be sent in Swedish
Actual Results
- Customer notification ignores browser language and defaults to Norwegian
Notes
- The request language is correctly set to Swedish but the notification is sent in Norwegian
Workaround
- Have the customer change their preferred language to Swedish

We have recently rolled out a change that fixes this bug. When a new user signs up via the customer portal or submits a ticket via the anonymous portal, the customer notifications will now be received in the user's browser language at the time of signup.
