      Approvals are now available in next-gen projects. You can now add approvals in your workflows, assign approvers and transition workflows automatically when the request is approved or rejected!

      We’d love for you to check it out, add approvals to your workflows and let us know what you think.

      • To set one up, head to Project settings > Request types, and click the Edit workflow button at the top.
      • Select a status, and in the sidebar on the right hand side you should see an Approvals section, where you can add a new approval to that status.

      Problem

      Currently, it is not possible to configure approvers in next-gen projects, only in classic ones. This is a major functionality to customers that wants a simple configuration with approvers.

      Suggestion

      Enable approvers in next-gen projects.

            Just been trying to use the feature but getting an error every time i try to save a workflow with approval config.

            Max, unfortunately we had to turn the feature back off temporarily due to a bug, but a fix is merged and waiting to be deployed, so we expect to turn the feature back on by end of today.

            My apologies for the delay, our feature lead pgrasevski will respond again here once we have re-enabled the feature.

            Great news, but we still don't see the approval-option in the "edit workflow"-view. Tried selecting multiple statuses but no luck. There is no APPROVAL with a + button next to it in the right hand-pane.

            Hello, i want to share my use case for approval's maybe it would help a bit, we waiting this too.

             

            I have Jira SD for collecting issues.

            All issues going to Jira software to developer Kanban.

             

            I must have 2 types of approval

            1. Approve for estimate (only dedicated users can approve - Atlassian user)
            2. Approve for done (could be any of company employee who create task - non atlassian user)

             

            Kanban must sync statuses with Jira SD (Done) 

            Kanban must sync comment with Jira SD (Done)

            Jira SD must sync comments with Kanban (Not possible?) 

            Jira SD must collect approves (Waiting?) 

             

            If needed more information just write me back.

            We've been working hard on approvals, doing another QA review this week, we do not generally give estimated date, but we're hoping to deliver this to customers soon.

            We love the concept of HR Service Desk for next-gen JSD, but we really need an approval workflow before we can implement it. We have various onboarding tasks that require an approval. To give a couple examples: issuing company property or access to financial systems.

            Is there any estimate as to when the approval functionality might be delivered?
