    • Our product teams collect and evaluate feedback from a number of different sources. To learn more about how we use customer feedback in the planning process, check out our new feature policy.

NOTE: This suggestion is for JIRA Service Desk Cloud. Using JIRA Service Desk Server? See the corresponding suggestion.

      Problem Definition

JSM allows admins to Hide email signatures from the issue view and portals, however it doesn't allow to customize the strip quote settings when processing incoming emails into requests/comments.

Users may inadvertently copy information that are preceded by quotation divs, such as <div class=3D"gmail_quote gmail_quote_container">, which provide little visual cue to the user, but will result on its contents not appearing on the comment. This behavior was originally considered a bug, however it is the expected with the "Strip Quote" settings enabled

      Suggested Solution

Provide option to customize the strip quote settings where we could add specific tags to be ignored, for example gmail_quote.

            Hi All,

I've reviewed this ticket and this issue is a candidate for our long-term roadmap.  We will not be solving this in the short term due to higher priorities. We will reprioritise this after six months.

            Thanks,

Jason and the Jira Service Management Team

            System is unreliable at best.

I have been forced to route all "Reply To" emails through Jira core server "jira@domain.atlassian.net" in order to get the stripping to work.
This also requires permissions settings considered incorrect by Jira -

            Role: Service Desk Customers
            Add Comments, Add Attachments

Notifications: email address should be listed as jira@DOMAIN.atlassian.net

If you are using a non Jira account to handle incoming email requests the system will force you to use the JSD Mail Handler system.

This feature would be extremely useful! We are a company whom uses details in our email signatures, along with majority of our customers. With each email, tens of small images get stored as attachments. It makes it very difficult to search through attachments on service desk tickets and consumes time. I think a filter option to set the minimum size of attachments would be great (If not set it to something reasonable like 5KB) ! Please add this feature!

Yes! This would be extremely helpful for our business. We receive html email in Jira all day long and the noise that is created not stripping off this material really chokes each comment and wasted storage space on our server.

This would be extremely helpful, especially from internal personnel and customers who have attachments as signatures to not have a constant stream of duplicates of all these as attachments

Very annoying when signature have attachment and when people keep mail history when replying to email.
