    • Our product teams collect and evaluate feedback from a number of different sources. To learn more about how we use customer feedback in the planning process, check out our new feature policy.

NOTE: This suggestion is for JIRA Service Desk Cloud. Using JIRA Service Desk Server? See the corresponding suggestion.

Could you please implement the ability to vote on an issue using Customer Portal interface? That would be great!

[JSDCLOUD-1743] Ability to vote on an issue on Customer Portal

Hi d0d1ba410583, our customers and managers really need this capability and I'm looking into possible workarounds, but is there an update on when this will be added to your roadmap?

same here. All the advanced requirements, we don't have - A simple vote would help a lot already, as we already had this in our former system and are really missing it a lot.

Really need this feature in Jira SM cloud so we can handle our NFS tickets in one platform

Not sure if this belongs here, but to make voting a good experience it would be great if issues in the portal are better browsable, e.g. to provide some attributes by which issues could be filtered or arranged to have some sort of order of the issues for the users of the service desk.

@sushant is reviewing this so let's toss a more comprehensive description of user needs and business value here than the single sentence up there.

            Business Value

Currently, organizations are purchasing additional software such as Aha! to give their clients the ability to review tickets and vote on them. his has everything to do with not having to purchase a Jira seat for everyone who needs to post, review, comment, and vote on issues. The ability to vote on service desk issues would enable this within the Atlassian cloud, save customers money, and generate additional revenue for Atlassian for use of service desk rather than software from another maker.

            User Needs

Besides just "the ability to vote" I suggest:

            1. The ability to vote using a 1 to 5 likert scale rather than just voting up or down
            2. The ability to leave a comment with a vote that is visible to others, with limited character input (max 1 paragraph-ish)
            3. The ability to see how many other people voted, and what the results are so far (without showing how particular users or visitors voted)
            4. The ability for administrators to select whether Jira users/admins can see how which users voted or whether they can just see how many voted and what the results are.
            5. The ability for a user to easily select to watch an issue they voted on, perhaps as easy 1 click suggestion after completing the voting process
            6. The ability to send a poll for voting to a group of users/e-mail addresses (sent as BCC to avoid inbox deluge when folks reply)
              1. The ability to set an expiration date/time to cast a vote
              2. The ability to send reminders to vote, triggered automatically within a certain time of the expiration date/time or manually
              3. The ability to send the users who voted on issues, and other users/e-mail addresses the results of a given poll, with space for custom messages that has some suggested text such as "The results are in! Thank you for voting on your priorities, our team will take in your valuable feedback as input for our prioritization process"
              4. The ability to skip voting for a given issue that's part of a poll

            You're welcome!

This is huge companies need this ability out of the box. To be able to expose a voting portal to internal and external stakeholders and have that feed directly to Product and Development projects would be amazing. Please get this done in 2023 this would be a huge win for our organization.

Hi! The voting option is available on the Customer Case for Jira app. It's a helpdesk and public forum solution at the same time. A viable and cost-effective solution for small teams.

Why isn't this a thing already? I want the average user to be able to vote on issues, not just the people doing projects and development. C'mon Jira, you can do it!

Any updates on this feature being taken up for implementation.

            Thanks.

Yesterday I found the plugin Roadmap Portal for Jira Service Desk

It has Roadmap publishing and users can vote. Of course I'd rather have a native feature as this plugin has some shortcomings (separate URL, limited fields displayed) but it's a decent temporary solution, at least for us.
