Issue Summary
If Quick Create Object is enabled for a Schema, and a whitespace only name is entered (such as a single space character), Assets attempts to create the Object but fails.
Steps to Reproduce
- Enable Quick Object Creation
- Navigate to an Object that has an Object Attribute
- Edit the Object Attribute and enter a single Space
- Click off of the Object Attribute
Expected Results
Assets ignores the white space character and doesn't attempt to create the Object.
Actual Results
Assets attempts to create the Object with whitespace for a Label, but this fails. Assets still enters the value into the Object Attribute leading to an "Unknown" Object entered. This broken Object Reference causes various issues with other Assets Functionality. Such as, breaking External Imports for the Object, as well as breaking Exports.
Workaround
The broken object reference must be removed from the Value. Atlassian Support can find all Objects with a broken object reference like this to clear them.
