      Atlassian Update – 2 May 2024

Thank you for reporting this issue. In the last months we have been working hard on fixing it.

      Summary of the problem:

Attachment button found in Jira text editors would disappear in various scenarios.

      New behaviour after the change:

In the fixed versions, the attachment button has got new behaviour, providing feedback to the user if not available. Instead of disappearing and leaving no message or error, the button now becomes disabled and provides a tooltip with contextual message explaining why it is not available.
In cases where the button should work, but wasn't, e.g. creating issue on a standalone page, the button now properly works and is available to the user.

      Status of the fix:

The fix is ready, and we’re moving the status of this ticket to Waiting for release with Fix Version of 9.4.21, 9.12.9 and 9.16.0.
