Summary
When using a screen reader, the options on Combo Box fields (such as Fix Version, Priority, or Labels) are not read out loud.
Here is a quick video of a field that works (Linked Issues) vs fields that do not work. Audio was not recorded, so see the top bar for what is being read:
Environment
JIRA being used with a screen reader, such as OSX VoiceReader, JAWS, or NVDA.
Steps to Reproduce
- Activate VoiceOver in OS X (⌘+F5).
- Create or edit an issue in JIRA.
- Mouse over some options in a Combo Box field, and note that they are not read out loud.
Expected Results
The options will be read out loud.
Actual Results
Instead of the options being read, the Screen Reader reports:
You are currently on a combo box, inside of HTML content. Type text or, to display a list of choices, press Control-Option-Space. To exit this web area, press Control-Option-Shift-Up Arrow
Or on some browsers it will not report anything at all.
