After an issue is created, clicking on Assign and pasting a screenshot to the comment will fail with 'Unable to render embedded object' error

      Summary

      After an issue is created, clicking on Assign and pasting a screenshot to the comment will fail with the following error:

      Unable to render embedded object: File (image-2017-03-10-15-53-03-966.png) not found.

      Steps to Reproduce

      1. Create a new issue.
      2. Click on Assign. This will open the Assign screen with a comment Dialog.
      3. Copy a screenshot.
      4. Paste it in the comment box (Ctrl+v)

      Other use case

      • When edit an issue comment via Agile Board
        • Copy and paste screenshot in the comment.
      • When a user trying to log work
        1. Click on More
        2. Click on Log work
        3. Paste a screenshot to the Work Description box
      • Adding an attachment in the 'Add Flag and Comment' screen
        1. Right-click on a card in JIRA Software board
        2. Click on 'Add Flag and Comment'
        3. Select Visual mode
        4. Paste a screenshot in the Comment field OR add text and change color of text when using the color dropdown in the comment field
          • In IE 11 browser, user will got this JS error message:
            Exception: Unable to get property 'nodeType' of undefined or null reference
            

      Another User Case

      Environment JIRA 7.3.5
      1. Access any JIRA issue.
      2. Take a screen shot.
      3. Edit a comment and add the screenshot to it.
      4. Update the comment.

      Observation: If the comment field is in the visual mode, you would be able to see the image but when you past, you would get the error. If the comment field is in the Text mode, you cannot paste the image.

      Expected Results

      Should work just like pasting a screenshot to a comment on an issue.

      Actual Results

      After pasting the screenshot and clicking on Assign, the following error is displayed.

      After pasting the screenshot, you would get: Unable to render embedded object: File (image-2017-08-31-13-16-54-044.png) not found.

      Workaround

      • Attach the image first to the issue
      • Add the "Attachment" field to the Screen Transition. The attachment will be added when it is pasted.
