      Original Description

In my project, labels are omitted from the view/edit screen. I am aware from JRA-28788 that labels can still be edited within this configuration, but that the pencil icon will not be visible. However:

      1. When viewing the issue itself (see URL), the pencil icon is absent, as expected. - viewing the issue itself now leaves inline editing enabled as a result of the sidebar being present when viewing an issue.
      2. When viewing the issue from the project issue list, the pencil icon unexpectedly appears.

      Steps

Turn off Inline Edit in the General Configuration
Visit a view issue page via the issue navigator
Click on a field, e.g. priority

      Expectation

      Nothing happens.

      Reality

      The field is edited inline.

      Notes

The bug is not present in JIRA 6.4.9, but is present in JIRA 7.0.0.
This is also affecting normal issue view in JIRA Cloud v1000.110.0.

[JRASERVER-59259] Inline edit configuration is not being respected

The same bug is reproduced on the latest version of Jira Server 7.7.1.

            Kindly fix it.

This issue seems to persist in 7.1.9 JIRA Software as well. If you try to view open issues from project overview tab this issue is happening. Also in issue navigator window. It is good if you check and update the affected versions section.

I am experiencing the same issue with JIRA 6.4.12 and JIRA service desk 2.5.9

I have more information for this issue. Yesterday, we turned off the "Inline edit" system setting. However, inline editing is still available when viewing issues via a project issue list. This is significantly more concerning than the initial Labels behavior.
