Attaching a file with invalid character in JIRA OnDemand will end up with "Uknown server error (500)"

      Attaching a file with invalid character in JIRA OnDemand will end up with "Unknown server error (500)" while in SAC or standlone JIRA, it will automatically detected.

      For example, a filename containing ":".

            When uploading via the 'Create issue' dialog, I don't even see the 500 error - the upload just stops, without giving any clues why.

            I received the error in both the create issue dialog, and subsequently the attach files dialog.

            I just ran into the same error attaching a file named "strong>pace - Confluence 2014-02-07 14-49-19.png" to jira.atlassian.com. I assume it's the same bug. I haven't tried narrowing it down to specific characters but I assume it's the angle bracket (greater than) (>). I renamed the file and then it attached fine.
