NOTE: This bug report is for JIRA Server. Using JIRA Cloud? See the corresponding bug report.
The attachment option in JIRA has vague filename restrictions, and rejects uploads if the filename contains certain characters.
This is kinda frustrating behaviour, and I'd suggest it would be more useful if JIRA would sanitise inputs rather than just slamming the door.
Steps to reproduce:
- Create a file on the disk called "Screenshot from 2014-03-07 11:42:21.png"
- Attempt to attach this to a JIRA task.
Expected behaviour: The file uploads and gets renamed if necessary.
Actual behaviour: The file doesn't upload and I receive an error.
