Hi everyone,
We found that there are two distinct bugs combined as one in this issue.
- Inability to add new attachments
- Inability to reference existing attachments
After some analysis, we concluded that most votes on this issue are related to (1) i.e the inability to add new attachments. Hence we’re updating this issue as such, and good news - we’ve fixed it. Please note that for you to be able to upload attachments in the editor, the Attachment field needs to be first configured on the screen.
The inability to (2) i.e reference existing attachments is now tracked separately on JRACLOUD-82488.

Issue Summary
On the new Jira issue view, attachments cannot be embedded on public comments via transition screens.
Steps to Reproduce
- Set a resolve transition screen
- Configure the screen to allow attachments
- Use the transition and try to embed an attachment to the customer response.
Expected Results
As with the old view, existing and new attachments can be embedded on the customer response using the attachment icon.
Actual Results
In the new view, there is no way to embed attachments on the public comments via transition screens. The icon never appears even if there are existing attachments on the issue or new files are attached.
Workaround
- Use the old issue view or manually embed the attachment using the syntax
- Drag and drop attachments to the comment field (the attachment will be uploaded and embedded into the comment)
