Unable to generate backup for Server when there is a Next-Gen Project in the instance

      Hi everyone,

      We have released a series of improvements to the "Export for Server" feature in Jira Cloud to clarify the limitations regarding Next-Gen projects and export for Server. Since Next-Gen managed projects are not yet available in Server, the supported export path is to migrate the issues in Next-Gen projects to other projects that you have created, then delete the Next-Gen projects.

      Our hope is that the changes we have made to the export process will make it faster and easier to resolve this issue. We have also updated the documentation about exporting from Jira Cloud to Jira Server to make it easier to follow.

      Please note that if you are a Jira Administrator and you want to restrict the ability to create Next-Gen projects, you can do so by reviewing the groups that are granted the Create Next-Gen Projects global permission.

      Summary

      1. Create a Next-Gen Project
      2. Try to create a backup for Server

      Expected Results

      The option to create a backup for Server is available the backup is created properly.

      Actual Results

      The option to Create a backup for Server is no longer available, and the following message is shown:

      Your site contains Next-Gen projects. Jira Software Server and Data Center don't support these. If you want to create a server backup, contact support.

      Workaround

      Create a regular project and move the issues from the Next-Gen Project to the newly created project. Then delete the Next-Gen Projects.
