      Hi everyone,
      I've spoken to the team to revisit this idea, but unfortunately as per the previous update there aren't any immediate plans to implement this, aside from this doc that may have relation to the ask here: https://confluence.atlassian.com/adminjiraserver073/configuring-a-custom-field-861253383.html#ConfiguringaCustomField-userfilteringUserFiltering

      Current Custom Fields do not allow CF to be individually configured. For example, one might want a User Picker custom field to be limited to users of a particular group.

      You should be able to pass in parameters to configure the custom field when you set it up initially.
