Issue Summary
When a user visits the site URL, (e.g. test.atlassian.net) the Landing Product feature will direct the user to the product that the Org Admin has set as the landing product for that site URL.
But if a user does not have access to that product, they will be shown an error page or a Request Access page.
Steps to Reproduce
- Create a new org/site, with Confluence and Jira Software
- Create a user and give Confluence access only (in default environment, include the user in "confluence-users" group only)
- Ensure the landing product is set to Jira.
- login as the user
- Try to access the site URL (<site-name>.atlassian.net)
Expected Results
The user is redirected to a product on the site that they DO have access to, i.e. Confluence.
Actual Results
- User is directed to Jira (<instance-name>.atlassian.net/secure/Dashboard.jspa) but cannot access the product.
- User is directed to Jira and needs to request access to the product
Workaround
- Have an admin set their home product to Confluence - https://confluence.atlassian.com/cloud/set-your-site-homepage-873871363.html
- Navigate to <instance-name>.atlassian.net/wiki and the user will be re-directed to Confluence
- Navigate to start.atlassian.com to land in the Atlassian Product Portal
