As a planner, I want to be able to see how much work is assigned to different specialists (or groups of specialists) on my team, so I can balance the workload accordingly.

[JSWSERVER-9689] Support preassigning work to specialists

Martin - using Original Time Estimate doesn't really give the functionality I need, we need to know how much time a specialist has in total - tasks from previous sprints may have only a fraction of their original time estimate remaining so OTE isn't the most useful statistic to show here. I've raised GHS-11202 - I'll raise Atlassian a packet of ready salted nuts to go along with the ale!

daniel.siegmann, regarding GHS-5389, we see it as a valid feature request and a logical progression of the avatars on the sprint headers, however we cannot provide any guidance at this time as to when, or if, we'll be implementing it.

Any chance you will prioritize filtering by user (GHS-5389) soon? That is what I really need.

JIRA Agile 6.5 included assignee avatars in plan mode on cards and also in the sprint header. The sprint header avatars on hover show the amount of work assigned to a user.

JIRA Agile 6.6, which will be released this month, will include an additional dialog which shows a summary of assigned work in a sprint (by assignee) and also shows the remaining estimated unassigned work.

I believe this issue is now satisfied with the features mentioned above and will resolve it accordingly. I have included an example screenshot of the dialog.

The "Workload Pie Chart" is a clever solution (ungainly, but clever) to the lack of a filter-based analogue to the Version Workload Report (GHS-5849).

(Absent GHS-5849, I'd really like a version of the two-dimensional statistics that allowed me to a) report on any numeric field and not just issue counts and b) aggregate using at least sum, mean, max, min and not just sum. Those two features would save a lot of export-to-excel-pivot-table thrash.)

I've been following this issue as well. I setup a sprint dashboard and added pie chart that shows me assigned time per developer. The chart can be added though the add gadget button, and then search for "Workload Pie Chart". The pie chart can be set to use a saved issue filter. While this does not give me a true picture of reality, it does help.

A better solution would be greatly appreciated.

We have the need to split up by subteams too while planning. Using parallel Sprints just isn't easy enough to maintain.

Any update on this? this really, really, REALLY should be core functionality. We have over 250 employees, the bulk of which are on projects running Scrum, the bulk of which have some concept of specialists in their teams - the lack of this functionality makes the lives of anyone involved in planning utterly miserable. This isn't just about specialists, it just needs to be a generic mechanism for seeing how much time individuals or sub-groups of individuals are committing to in the planning view (capacity planning).

Are Atlassian open to bribes? I don't have money, but I'll owe whoever picks it up a nice warm, cloudy, English Ale. No jokes.

            Hi Hans,

You might find keyboard shortcuts will make your life much easier - use "j" and "k" to navigate between issues, and "." dialog (aka "the dot dialog") to select an action for an issue. Simply start typing "as" for "assign" and you will be able to assign an issue to anyone you need.

Separately, we do plan to provide inline edit in detail view - you can watch this issue: https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/GHS-7893 for updates.

            Kind regards
