Prevent usernames with special characters from syncing to Confluence

      Problem Definition

      Special characters are not allowed in Confluence usernames as those users will not be able to create content, like spaces, but these user accounts can still be synchronized to Confluence via an external directory.

      The end result is it appears that there are no issues with the user accounts until the user attempts to create content.

      Suggested Solution

      Implement a fail when attempting to synchronize external accounts with special characters rather than letting the sync complete

            We regret to inform you that due to limited demand, we have no plans to implement it in the foreseeable future. In order to set expectations, we're closing this request now.
