Allow Cloud customers to upload their own fonts to Confluence for PDF exports

    • We collect Confluence feedback from various sources, and we evaluate what we've collected when planning our product roadmap. To understand how this piece of feedback will be reviewed, see our Implementation of New Features Policy.

NOTE: This suggestion is for Confluence Server. Using Confluence Cloud? See the corresponding suggestion.

This is already possible to do in Confluence, but it requires system administrator permission. This should be changed to require only administrator permission to make this available for OnDemand customers.

This is particularly important now that we support languages other than English in OnDemand.

Why your default font doesn’t support UTF8 completely? Unbelievable!
We are deciding which tool to use as our internal DMS. Google Docs vs Confluence. This BUG is really bad thing.

This feature is very much needed for Korean users. For CJK text, we can use Google's Noto Sans CJK. It's licensed under SIL Open Font License, so you — Atlassian — can freely adapt it to Confluence Cloud.

            Audit completed as per request

Conclusion: I don't see how this can threaten OD, since the font is stored on the VM, and is parsed inside the JVM (no JNI is used). If this feature is turned on for OD, then as mentioned in CONF-30954 ensure that it is indeed only admins and sysadmins can upload fonts - /not/ users.

            Detailed audit notes
