Table of Contents doesn't appear properly when included in another page

NOTE: This bug report is for Confluence Server. Using Confluence Cloud? See the corresponding bug report.

When a page with a TOC is included in another page, the links do not work - nothing happens upon clicking one.

This seems to be a special case of the Resolved CONF-3844 (see last two comments).

            hi

we are using confluence 5.9.3 and we have still the pb. when we use a toc in a included pages, it dosesn't work. When we disable asolute url in toc parameters the urls don't change they  remain absolute url's

            Hi onevalainen,

I've now tested the new "Absolute URL" option in v5.5.3, and it does work! The cause really was the relative URLs, and this option seems to solve this issue completely...

            Thanks!

            Hi norbro,

Confluence 5.3.3 introduced an "Absolute URL" parameter to Table of Contents macro. When selected, the links will point to the page that contains the TOC. The relevant documentation is in the process of being corrected.

The problem is still occurring in v5.5.3, as described by Steve on 18/Nov/2013.

TOC links point to the current page, instead of the page which contains the TOC as should be.

This is an issue for us as well. This issue should be promoted to Critical.

I agree with this issue being CRITICAL, even though it seems to have been sleeping there for a while.

We experience the problem in Confluence 5.2.5, even though (as Florian underlines) it had "already been fixed" in v4.0...

Still not working in CF5.4, though it's been fixed for CF4.0 in CONF-3844

When will this be resolved? We have the same problem in 5.2.3!

            From CONF-31668:

1: Surround Table of Contents macro on Page A with an Excerpt macro.
2: Include the Table of Contents of Page A on to Page B with the Excerpt Include macro.
Table of Contents links on Page B do not correctly link to the headings on Page A. Instead it tries to link to non-existent headings on Page B.
Table of Contents URL on Page A: confluence.example.com/display/AAA/Page-A#Page-A-Heading-1
Table of Contents URL on Page B: confluence.example.com/display/AAA/Page-B#Page-A-Heading-1
In the above example, the URL on Page B should be exactly the same as the URL on Page A.

I mistakenly opened this up into a new issue CONF-31668. I've linked it to this issue as it contains a detailed description of the symptoms.
