• ALL Languages

NOTE: This bug report is for Confluence Server. Using Confluence Cloud? See the corresponding bug report.

Despite being in the translation packs, some strings are not being translated. This affects all bundled languages - French, German, Spanish and Japaneses. It likely affects non-bundled language packs as well.

Affected areas discovered so far include:

      • Meeting Notes Blueprint
      • Watch in pages
      • Task Report Macro
      • Installer
      • Welcome message on the dashboard

      Cause

The mismatch occurs when the user's language is different from the global language. In some places, the global language is preferred over the user's.

      Workaround

If it is feasible, ensure that the global language (Confluence Admin > Languages) is set to the same language as the end user's. The end user should also ensure that their browser language is set to their preferred language.

            Heya dunterwurzacher,

Doing well here. In Melbourne, and enjoying the life here. Glad to hear that all is well; regards to the guys there from us here.

Yup, noticed that in the linked issues. I've watched the issue, and will be rooting for the fix from our end.

Thanks for the effort, and good luck!

            Cheers,
            Justin.

Hey justin113! Doing really well thanks, and how are you?

There's actually another bug for the Task Report Macro here: CONF-36560, and yes it does affect Cloud as well. I'm looking into fixing them all together.

            Hi dunterwurzacher,

How are you doing? Hope you are well, mate!

Can you confirm that this bug is also affecting the Cloud version of Confluence? Cos we are seeing this on our Cloud pages for the Task Report macro:

Our Confluence instance's language is also set to English (United Kingdom).

            Cheers,
            Justin.

This is not a blocker as the onboarding work is unaffected. SetupUserChoiceManagementAction is all in English, but it has been like this at least since 5.7.
