UI becomes unresponsive after merging a branch

    Description

      After merging another branch into the current branch (by right-clicking on the branch to merge and choosing the second context option), the merge is done, but the UI remains unresponsive, as if it is waiting for the action to complete.

      Many items in the menus are disabled in the same way as though an action is in progress.

      It's not possible to close the workspace window or quit the app. A force quit is the only option.
