      Requested enhancement:

Ability to reopen an alert that has been closed incorrectly

      Current state:

Currently this is not possible in either the UI or via the API

      Reason for enhancement:

Allows for reopening of accidentally closed alerts and incidents

[OPSGENIE-88] As a customer I would like to have the Ability to Reopen Closed Alerts and Incidents as sometimes they are closed by accident

My company is also interested in this feature.

As already stated before re-opening the alert and incrementing the occurrence count is important and also to have the ability to re-notify the responder(s) that it has occurred again.

            Thank you!

            Any Update to that topic?

We would like to have a feature, that reopens an alert (based on alias) if a flag is set on the alert api.

If this feature comes up, it would be great if we can re-open it automatically based on an alias.

This could help to reduce the list of a repeated alert that comes very often in a short time but get also closed very often in a short time.

The idea would be to re-open it to increment, instead of creating a new alert.

I would like to automate a process in which when a closed alert reoccurs it will re-open it instead of creating a new alert.

Alerts should follow a lifecycle too.

Hi - there needs to be the ability to reopen these for anyone who is using ITIL compliant processes.
We have supervisory review of closed alerts - and if an alert has been found to be incorrectly closed then we

            1) Re-open to action it
            2) review why the alert was incorrectly closed with the agent who closed it

We would like to use OpsGenie to escalate Jira issues approaching SLA breaching, but use Teams in OpsGenie and sometimes those tickets get passed back and forth between teams. When it gets reassigned, we close the alert and open one against the new assigned team through the native integration. If it gets assigned back to the original team, we have no way to reopen the alert and then the issue gets lost in a blackhole. We need this ability to reopen alerts and we need it added to the Jira Service Management <> OpsGenie integration as well.
